Offering prizes to encourage space system development is just nuts. We need to get the shuttle flying and the gov needs to help united space alliance get the job done for the security of the USA.
With the ideas being suggested by the presidential candidates, the USA is in serious trouble.
We don't offer prizes for some to develop systems to defend the USA. Space capability is necessary for the defense of the USA.
Back in the 1960's they said that the Space Shuttle would become the covered wagon of space flight " Guess What " it is!
