Mr. Nelson is right on target. As are the 50 or so other experts listed on this site. We have the best system the USA and the world has ever had, it is in the museum. Nobody wants to talk about this tragic situation this country is encountering. This situation highlights the ineptness of our leaders in the Congress and the Whitehouse.
Very sad for America. We need to reverse this decision.

Can’t go to moon with expendable launch vehicle, technology is not there to do it.
It is too expensive and NASA needs reusable systems. Ares, Orion not simple, soon or safe.
NASA looking at tens of billion to redesign, test components and agency does not have money. Instead, NASA is robbing science programs, going forward with programs which should be cancelled.
Created 5 or greater year gap with russians suppling vehicles for ISS support during that time being a highly doubtful scenario .
Limited funding got testing is a formula for disaster. As is starting from scratch in a too compressed schedule.
The shuttle’s main engines From the World’s only reusable launch vehicle is about to be warehoused, representing a loss of years of testing and technology. Congress pressured by aerospace lobby to build an inferior and dangerous launch vehicle.
