I believe the United States of America still needs the capabilities of the space shuttle, and will continue to need these unique capabilities well into the future. Many Americans opposed the premature retirement of the shuttles, but OBAMA is the type of guy who is more interested in getting HIS way, at any cost, even when it is clearly wrong thing to do.
OBAMA is more emotional than logical and scientific. He didn't listen to the mainstream scientific experts regarding early retirement of the shuttles, but he was quick to be seduced and impressed by several new kids on the block that had nothing but slick animations, bravado, and swagger. Clearly, OBAMA prefers this type of personality over those with substance and years of exceptional accomplishments. After all, that is HIS personality too!
