Move NASA to DOD

NASA should be made a part of DOD.  There would be several benefits to the nation from budgetary improvements to actual space achievements.
Some of the key points are:
1.  We don’t waste money on civilian space window dressing
2.   Improve overall efficiency of the USA space effort , eliminate the waste inherent with two separate programs.
3.  Emphasized use of robotic/automated  systems thereby minimize loss of humans in accidents.
4.  This approach would allow more time for system safety issues associated with manned operations while unmanned operations would be applied as appropriate.
5.  Allows USA to eliminate waste in times of severe budget crisis and at same time improve the Nation’s space effort.
6. Eliminate accident investigation overkill as occurred on the two shuttle accidents.
7. Eliminate Aerospace Safety Advisory Panel.
8. Would eliminate media overkill on space vehicle accidents.
9. DOD a much larger organization than NASA is inherently more flexible and has a clearly defined mission, whereas NASA doesn’t. Furthermore, NASA ‘s mission has been made more unclear by present leadership.
10. DOD has to suffer a lesser number of special commissions and panels that interfere with their operations.
