The shuttle is critical to the survival of the USA.

Survival of the USA dependent on returning shuttle to flight

You may not think that space capability is needed or that it is important, but it is extremely critical to the security of this country. The clock is counting down to a time at which Americans will demand ” something” be done when China will be in space in a position to dictate to the US.  What the USA has done by putting the shuttle in the junk pile, and wasting hundreds of billions is to place the USA in a situation where it is very likely china will have absolute control of space.  The SLS/Orion can not help us militarily, whereas the shuttle with its flexibility can enable us in military areas but can enable us to explore also.

You would think the adm of NASA when given the goals by the president to retire shuttle and to make the musulims feel better would have said to the president,  with all due respect ,  Mr. President, I disagree, here is my resignation.   After all. the adm is a former ast. who flew on shuttle as  cmdr and pilot and prior to that was a marine fighter aircraft pilot.  I venture to suggest if you were to poll all current military fighter aircraft pilots and determined how they felt about the premature retirement of the shuttle, they would have voted to keep flying until we get an equivalent replacement.

After all is the adm more knowledgable than the list of experts listed on this site.?   I think not.  There is something else involved, which to say the least one would not expect from this individual.

Some additional names not on the list on site are: Al Richardson, George Jeffs, Mr. DeCastro, Wayne Hale, John Shannon, Bob Thompson, Aaron Cohen, Jay Greene, Dan Brandenstein, Mike Linbaugh. Don’t tell me C. Bolden, Lori Garver, BHO plus his advisors have greater knowledge than these brilliant people.
This is not a complete listing. When you have a large number of experts of this caliber and you have the present leaders establishing musulims feel better goals and placing shuttle in the junk heap, hiring Russians to get to ISS, and Bolden will not resign—something doesn’t smell right.

Regardless, the shuttle must be returned to flight.  Congress, this is critical to the survival of the USA.
Please, fund the return of the shuttle to flight.  Failure to do so will have grave consequences to this country.
