WASHINGTON, April 01. /ITAR-TASS/. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) plans to extend effective contracts with companies Orbital Sciences and Space-X for cargo delivery to the International Space Station for next two years, the US aerospace agency stated on Monday.

The contracts were signed with both companies in 2008. Now NASA stated that the deals may be extended for next two years from December 2015 until December 2017.

However, NASA did not say how many launches of space freighters the extended agreements may envisage.

Orbital Sciences is based in US State Virginia. Its contract with NASA is estimated at $1.9 billion. The agreement with California-based Space-X is planned at $1.6 billion.
