Interesting story of the preparation for surrender by the Japanese Forces during World War II.

This link is to a very long and fascinating bunch of material involving the Japanese aircraft at the surrender of WWII.

Everyone has seen photos of the Japanese surrender on the deck of the USS Missouri ... but few know of the delicate and dramatic arrangements beforehand

What's below tells the story of McArthur's specific guidance to the Japanese on communications links and new paint schemes for surrendering aircraft that flew to IeShima to get the specific guidance on how the surrender was to occur, complete with US aircraft flying protective cover for the incoming surrender aircraft.

Another small piece of American history -- that meant so much!

Amazing historical aviation story at the end of WWII. Might be of interest to some.

This is something I never knew about.  The Japanese aircraft all had to be painted white with green crosses to signify their surrender at the end of hostilities.  This lengthy article has an amazing slew of photos.
