Thanks to Charlie for letting us know of Gene Kranz's latest much deserved recognition.   He joins some very notable former winners.

Way to go Gene!

Larry- Congratulations goes to Gene Kranz who along with George P. Mitchell were honored by the Texas State History Museum Foundation as pioneers in the fields of space and energy.  The History-Making Texan Award goes to Texans who have made exceptional contributions to the state and nation.  The article on page E3 of the Houston Chronicle dated March 20, 2013 noted that previous winners were James A. Baker III, Walter Cronkite, Van Cliburn, and Dr. Denton Cooley.  It wasn't clear from the wording in the article if the previous winners listed therein comprised the total list of winners.  A well deserved recognition for Gene and the underlying contributions resulting from his leadership in mission operations.

Regards,

Charlie Harlan
