Subject: ARISS contact this Friday (Feb 19)
Kent,
I thought you would be interested to know that the ARISS contact
with the University of Alabama Space Hardware Club (K4UAH) at
Huntsville is scheduled for this Friday (Feb 19), and you will
be able to copy the downlink there in the JSC area. The rise
time for JSC will be 17:15:07 UTC in the southwest (AZ 220),
and peak elevation will be 78 deg in the southeast at 17:20:26 UTC.
The rise time for K4UAH will be a couple of minutes after yours,
at 17:16:48 UTC. You should be able to copy the 145.80 MHz
downlink for at least 2-3 minutes near peak with only a HT.
The attached .PDF has some Excel plots I made of this pass.
The astronaut at the mic will be Tim Kopra, KE5UDN, and the
following link has his NASA biography.
