 | | | | | | | | | | Reluctance to Label Terrorists
Hundreds of Nigerian girls remain missing as a group of American military personnel arrive in Nigeria today to aid in the search. They've been taken by a radical Islamic terrorist group called Boko Haram, which loosely translates into the idea that Western education should be forbidden. The situation is a tragedy, as the terrorist leader of the organization threatens to sell the kidnapped girls as slaves, claiming that Allah gave him permission.
The radical nature of this group is nothing new, especially to those within our own government who track terrorist organizations. In fact, in 2012 while Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State, her department hotly debated how to label Boko Haram and thusly what to do about it.
With Hillary Clinton running the State Department and Obama in the White House, the administration decided not to label the group as an official terrorist organization. According to the Washington Times, this was "out of concern that doing so would bolster the group's stature on the world stage and - as a result - enhance its ability to grow and recruit new members."
The current situation has firmly planted the group on the world stage, and perhaps Hillary has some explaining to do as to the reluctance to label this group for what it is really is. | | |   | | | Sequester Impact Revealed
Do you remember the apocalyptic doom-and-gloom that Democrats predicted if sequester budget cuts went into effect? Barack Obama himself warned that "this is not an abstraction, people will lose their jobs." Nancy Pelosi said that "sequestration equal unemployment."
Other Democrats warned that millions of Americans would lose their jobs, including Maxine Waters who said over 117 million jobs would be lost. Democrats tried to scare us into believing that our meat wouldn't be inspected, criminal illegal aliens would be set free to roam the streets of America, and who can forget that the White House shut down its tours to school children. The dire hype was verging on hysteria.
Well the results are in. According to the Government Accountability Office, the sequester resulted in exactly one layoff. One!
It just goes to show the lies and exaggerations Democrats are willing to tell us in order to further their cause. After all, sequestration falls into a pattern of this administration lying to the American people. Other examples include Benghazi, the IRS targeting of tea party conservatives or Obama's promise that we could keep our healthcare plans and our doctors.
The pattern of lies and deception has the American people wondering if we can believe anything these guys are telling us anymore. | | |  |
