Look at the funds expended on shuttle , Apollo, Gemini, Mercury for manned rating. Consider the minimum funding for the new commercial manned vehicles to access a ISS which itself is in danger & likely will not exist for many more years due to nonsensical shuttle termination. ( primary mission of cots is ISS )
This is an excellent illustration of the intellectual capabilities of our DC leaders in WH & NASA .
Of course you can add the brilliant leadership in health, EPA, border to name a few.
