Jay certainly was off of his meds when he wrote this one! He says that John F Kennedy was interested in the Moon when many historical facts disproving that have come out in the last 30 years. He sneers at Richard Nixon's focus on the budget and taxes - but failed to note that Nixon provided us with a relatively sustainable program. The Shuttle, for it's faults, has done an incredible job for years. Failures have been because NASA managers took safety for granted, they ignored obvious signs of problems, they hushed up opinions that disagreed with their own. The Shuttle has not failed - the management failed.
Jay Barbee has a few accurate statements in his "story" but it belongs on The Onion not MSNBC.
The MSNBC people need to have fewer articles by Barbee and more by Jim Oberg - a guy who really knows what he is talking about.
