CPC: the celebrations dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the first man out in the open space

March 18, 2015 in Star City will be held celebrations dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the first release in the history of man in space.

The event will be attended by the head of the Federal Space Agency, IA Komarov, head of the Cosmonaut Training Center named after Yuri Gagarin Y. Lonchakov, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Soviet cosmonaut AA Leonov, Hero of the Soviet Union Valentina Tereshkova, the first group of representatives, the widow of Hero of the Soviet Union, Soviet cosmonaut PI Belyaeva TF Belyaeva Soviet and Russian cosmonauts, management organizations in the space industry.

In 15 hours on the territory of the Cosmonaut Training Center a memorial stone embedded in honor of the 50th anniversary of the first release in the history of man into space from which to start an exposition on avenue extravehicular activity.

The event is scheduled a briefing for the media with the astronaut AA Leonov, head of the FSA, IAKomarov and chief Yu.A. Gagarin Y. Lonchakov.

In the 16 hours in the House of astronauts Star City ceremony honoring twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Soviet cosmonaut AA Leonov.

50 years of the first step in the universe

Cosmonaut Alexei Leonov March 18, 1965, exactly 50 years ago, made the first in the history of mankind spacewalk on board the spaceship "Voskhod-2" with a flexible lock chamber. This epoch-making event marked another step towards humanity universe. Heroism, dedication and professionalism Alexei Arkhipovich forever inscribed his name in the history of space exploration.

The total time of the first release of 23 minutes 41 seconds (of which the ship is 12 minutes 9 seconds). This successful experience led to the conclusion about the possibility of a person to perform work in the open space. Today extravehicular activity cosmonauts and astronauts of the ISS may continue for several hours, and all thanks to the first 729 seconds of that Alexey Leonov spent behind the "Voskhod-2".

We wish Alexei Arkhipovich health and optimism, luck and patience! And ask him to continue to share their invaluable life and professional experience with those who have yet to their 729 seconds!

50 years ago, on March 18, 1965 Soviet cosmonaut Alexey Leonov conducted humanity's first ever spacewalk

Soviet cosmonaut Alexey Leonov took part in the Voskhod 2 flight. On March 18, 1965 he conducted extra-vehicular activity (EVA), exiting the capsule for the first ever spacewalk which lasted 12 minutes and nine seconds. On March 18, 1965 Soviet cosmonaut Alexey Leonov conducted  humanity's first ever spacewalk. While taking part in the Voskhod 2 flight he conducted extra-vehicular activity, which lasted 12 minutes and nine seconds. Leonov moved five meters away from the capsule.
