We have the hardware, the facilities, the team, all we need is the political will. We have a mini shuttle now flying in the X37. The Russians say our shuttle is number one, Bob Thompson, George Abbey, Buzz Aldrin, George Jeffs, all feel the shuttle should continue to fly.
Also, Al Richardson in The Case To Save the Shuttle points out the benefits of the Shuttle.
The shuttle can be improved, and become automatic thereby eliminating crew safety issues.
America needs this capability and it is appropriate for this great Country.
The next Preident likely Romney needs to follow former SPM Bob Thompson advise regarding space advisors. Hopefully, they will recognize what we have in the museum --- The Shuttle, only the USA has a vehicle with this capability.
